This Saturday, April 2nd, 1:00-3:00pm The Bard Math Circle is coming to Starr Library, bringing puzzles and games that set a playful mood to investigating and problem solving, from arithmetic to algebra. Math Circle will be held once a month at Starr. Activities are focused on middle school children, but all are welcome, as are math teachers of all levels.
Volunteer math majors from Bard connect with the kids and take them beyond boring basics into a world of fun math. The program, founded three years ago by Bard mathematics professors Lauren Rose and Japheth Wood, works with the Rhinebeck and Red Hook school districts, and holds regular events at the Kingston and Tivoli libraries.
