Community Coalilition Announcement

The Community Coalition for Rhinebeck Youth welcomes and encourages parents, grandparents, and teens to check out our new website @  Through the generous donation of his time and expertise community member, Graham Hanson, has helped us create an evolving resource of information and  support we can use when addressing the important subject of healthy decision making with the young people in our lives.

Be sure to click on the “Video Presentations” tab at the top if you missed our November 2010 forum held in the Rhinebeck High School Auditorium.  You’ll find clips containing invaluable factual information parents can use when talking with their teens, and when teens are talking with one another, about the very real dangers of drugs and alcohol.

Our aim is to provide practical advice and information to help kids and parents prepare for crucial decision-making moments while also raising awareness of the drugs available in our community. We’ll be adding new information every month, so be sure and check back.

We would love to hear from you with a comment or suggestion on our site.

Nearly every child will be offered drugs or alcohol before graduating high school – from alcohol, cigarettes, marijuana, to prescription pills, opiates, and a variety of addictive substances – let’s help them navigate the contradictory messages they are hearing by arming them with the facts and with the message that there are adults in their lives who are here to provide guidance, love, and support so that they will grow up with the skills of healthy decision making.  Only educated, honest, and open dialog can do that.
