Rhinebeck works to improve lighting in village lot
RHINEBECK — Village officials are upgrading lighting in the 130-space municipal parking lot on East Market Street to provide better illumination and reduce vandalism.
Mayor James Reardon said electric service for the new lamps is expected to be completed this week.
“It’s something that I worked on for six or seven months to get into place,” he said. “It’s going to be beautiful architectural-style lighting. There’s eight poles that will have Victorian-style cages on them. The company initially shipped only one of the cages and we’re still waiting for the other seven to come.”
