School To Be In Regular Session on April 1, 2011

At their meeting on February 8, 2011, the Rhinebeck Board of Education approved exercising the option of holding a regular day of classes on Friday, April 1, 2011 to make up the 6th emergency closing day of the year that was utilized on February 2, 2011.  April 1 was previously scheduled as a Superintendent’s Conference Day devoted to professional development activities for the teaching staff.

In order to accommodate this change, teachers will make up the Superintendent’s Conference Day professional development activities outside of the regular school day on several afternoons before the end of the current school year. Assuming that no other emergency closing days are needed before the beginning of April, the scheduled spring break will be maintained as approved by the Board of Education on April 13, 2010.

If school needs to be closed for emergency reasons, weather-related or otherwise, and additional “make-up” days are needed, classes will then be in session first on Wednesday, April 20, and thereafter on Thursday, April 21, and then on Tuesday, April 19th, in that order.  If additional “make-up” days are needed beyond that, April 18 and April 22 will then be under consideration.
