Water taxi service set to travel between Kingston and Rhinecliff

KINGSTON — City officials will gather to celebrate the launching of a Kingston-Rhinecliff water taxi service at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 31 at the Kingston Rondout.

The service, which has been in the works for more than a year, is set to operate on a limited schedule with the possibility for future expansion, according to a Hudson River Cruises press release on Tuesday.

A flotilla will accompany the water taxi, named the M/V Lark, across the Hudson River to a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Rhinecliff Dock.

Town of Rhinebeck Supervisor Tom Tradt and Kingston Mayor James Sottile are slated to attend the event.  For information about the launch, contact Hudson River Cruises at 845-340-4700. To view the M/V Lark travel schedule, go to www.hudsonrivercruises.com.
