Students from Rhinebeck H.S. were honored at dedication ceremony.

Tivoli, NY. A dedication ceremony took place last Thursday, June 10 at the Tivoli Visitor’s Center, hosted by the DEC and Village of Tivoli, to celebrate the addition of four new welcome panels and the students artists of Rhinebeck High School, who painted them.

The H.S. painting class, led by art teacher, Cynthia Baer, has been participating in a collaborative project with the DEC Hudson River Research Reserve. Students went on a field trip to the Tivoli Bays Visitor Center which introduced students to the unique environment of Tivoli Bays and to the site for which they were to paint the four welcome panels that depict the seasonal changes of the estuary. A canoe trip through Tivoli North Bay provided a first-hand experience of the estuary under the guidance of Jean Valla McAvoy, Education Coordinator of the Reserve.
