“Young at Art” is the fourth annual group exhibition of works by students attending Rhinebeck Central High School and Bulkeley Middle School. “Young at Art” located at Montgomery Row Second Level is open to the public Monday-Saturday 9am-6pm. For more information, contact Sue at 845.876.0543 or visit www.montgomeryrow.com.      Bulkeley Middle School and Rhinebeck High School art students from grades six through twelve present a body of work containing a variety of media used in their academic classes. This show highlights works of art by students studying with Jennifer Famiglietti, Cynthia Baer and Kathryn Giles. These works show the expertise students gain as they study art within Rhinebeck Central Schools’ arts curriculum as well as the faculty’s prowess in developing artist talent.  “Young at Art” a group exhibit of student work includes still life, portrait, landscape, computer graphics and abstract works. While the works reflect the students’ expertise in using mixed media, drawing (pencil or charcoal), pastel, stained glass, acrylic painting and technology, they also reflect the themes and interests of the individual student. Some themes reflect local and/or distant outdoor life, others show a student’s self-awareness, while others substantiate the student’s keen understanding of balancing light, and color and hues. This exhibit provides a tasting of the many different creative experiences Rhinebeck Central School students in grades 6 through 12 are exposed to as they participate in Rhinebeck’s course offerings and learn about visual art including combining visual art and technology. “Young at Art” is from May 1 – May 27, 2010  Montgomery Row Second Level is located at Montgomery Row, 6423 Montgomery Street (Route 9), Rhinebeck.
