Central Hudson plans to ‘recover’ storm costs

The utility will eventually try to recover February’s huge storm costs from ratepayers, its chief executive said Tuesday, but he dismissed as “speculation” any talk that a special surcharge would be the method.

Speaking after the annual meeting of shareholders of the parent company, CH Energy Group Inc., its chairman, president and CEO, Steven Lant, said that when all costs are counted, now estimated at $20 million, a proposal will be made to the state Public Service Commission by Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp.
