The Rhinebeck Farmers Market, which begins its 16th season on May 9th as the area’s largest and most diverse farmer’s market, has established the John Honey Scholarship in honor of one of its founders and long-time Board of Directors, John Honey.
The $1000 award will be given to a graduating Rhinebeck High School senior who will be attending college to major in agriculture, food science, environmental studies or a related field.
In consultation with the school, a committee of Rhinebeck Farmers Market Board of Directors will review applicants. Deadline is May 1 and applicants must have maintained a B average, been accepted to a college or university, and submit a transcript and essay describing why they have chosen their major.
