Marshall Crenshaw plays for a cause

Golden Globe-nominated recording artist Marshall Crenshaw will make his second appearance at Whale of a Concert and Auction at the Chancellor Livingston Elementary School in Rhinebeck.

The event will be held from 3-6 p.m. April 11.

Crenshaw performed at this event two years ago when his daughter was a fifth-grader at the school. “Any parent of a fifth-grader at this school gets asked to contribute whatever they can to raise funds for the Whale Watch field trip; it’s a yearlong crusade,” he said.

Crenshaw said it is gratifying to know that his benefit concert makes the Whale Watch possible.

The auction will run simultaneously with Crenshaw’s concert, which will feature selections from his new CD, “Jaggedland.”
