Utility: It could be days before power is restored

More than 80,000 Dutchess and Ulster County homes and businesses are without
electricity, and it could be several days before many customers see their
power restored, a Central Hudson Gas and Electric Corp. spokeswoman said
this afternoon. Throughout the utility’s coverage area, more than 145,000 are without power. It’s a record-setting storm, tallying the most outages in local history, officials said.

Dry ice, bottled water available to storm victims

Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp. is distributing dry ice and bottled water today at the following locations to people who are without electricity.

Red Hook High School, 103 W. Market St., Red Hook

Rosendale Recreation Center, state Route 32, Rosendale

Bryant’s Plaza, state Route 32, Greenville

Eltings Corners, state Route 299, New Paltz

Government Center, 2 Elting Court, Ellenville

Middle Hope Fire House, U.S. Route 9W, Middle Hope

Dan Legg Fire Department, state Route 52/Lakeside Road, Newbrugh

East End Fire Department, state Route 9D/Swenson Drive, Wappingers Falls
