AARP offers free assistance in preparing income tax forms
KINGSTON — AARP volunteers in Ulster and Dutchess counties will provide free tax-preparation assistance for low- to moderate-income taxpayers.
Beneficiaries do not need to be a member of AARP or a retiree.
Electronic filing service will be offered at all locations for both federal and New York state income tax returns. Sites are will be open Feb. 1 through April 15. Appointments are required.
Assistance will be offered in 29 sites in Dutchess and Ulster counties, including, in Dutchess County:
• Hyde Park Free Library, 2 Main St., 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and 1 to 4 p.m. Thursdays. For more information or to make an appointment, call (845) 229-7791.
