Snowed-out test takers must wait until June

MANY AREA students who were scheduled to take state Regents exams in algebra, chemistry and physics Thursday afternoon will have to wait until June because of snow-related closings and early dismissals.

Regents exams are administered only three times per year — in January, June and August — and makeup tests generally are not given, even when inclement weather is to blame for cancellations. That means students who missed out on Thursday’s tests have no choice but to wait five months
