State seeks responses to estuary plan

THE STATE Department of Environmental Conservation will take written comments through Feb. 22 on its revised five-year plan to protect Hudson River estuaries in 10 counties along the river between New York City and the Troy dam.

The revised plan, which stems from a hearing last June at West Point, sets a target of land purchases and conservation agreements involving 90,000 acres by 2014.
