Quadricentennial may give economy a boost
Greg Sokaris, executive director of the Wilderstein historic site in Rhinebeck, is organizing an exhibit of the estate’s collection of memorabilia from the tercentennial celebration in 1909.
The exhibit will also feature other items from that time period – many of which are being displayed for the first time.
“It’s kind of an uncertain time in general in terms of the economy, but we’ve been doing special events for the past few years in general, and they always seem to improve traffic,” Sokaris said. “We’re hoping that the ‘1909’ exhibit will draw a lot of visitors.”
