Poughkeepsie senior center changes locations
Dutchess County Office for the Aging’s City of Poughkeepsie Senior Friendship Center has moved to a new location.
The new, larger center will be located in the First Evangelical Lutheran Church at the corner of the westbound arterial and Catherine Street in Poughkeepsie. It was previously housed in the First Presbyterian Church. The move was effective Feb. 2.
The center is run in collaboration with the Dutchess County Association for Senior Citizens.
There are 10 Dutchess County Senior Friendship Centers, each offering senior citizens an opportunity for socialization and a nutritional noontime meal weekdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. In addition to the City of Poughkeepsie, centers are also located in Beacon, East Fishkill, Fishkill, Hyde Park, Millerton, Pawling, Rhinebeck, South Amenia, and a Tri-Town center that serves the town of Poughkeepsie, Pleasant Valley and LaGrange.
