Boy’s illness linked to bacteria strain in peanut butter recall

Dutchess County health officials have confirmed the first case of salmonella involving a strain of bacteria linked to the nationwide recall of peanut butter products.

An elementary school-aged Dutchess County boy was infected by Salmonella Tennessee in November, according to Dr. Michael Caldwell, the county health commissioner. Caldwell’s staff was alerted Monday by the state Department of Health that conducted tests.
