Assistance with icy driveway appreciated

On a recent wintry morning, I was chopping ice from one side of my rather long driveway when a passing truck slowed, stopped, backed up and pulled in. Two young men got out of the truck and the driver said they were going to salt the driveway, and he quickly added “no charge.” They removed a spreader from the truck, filled it with a bag of the product they were using and spread all of it on my driveway.

The driver said words to the effect they couldn’t pass by without helping when seeing what I was doing. There was a phone number on the side of the truck along with the name, Boice, and I, being very grateful, asked for more information.

It turns out the driver and also the owner is Jonathan Boice, general contractor, of Staatsburg, and his assistant is Vinnie. I thank them for their assistance.
