Celtic Day At Staatsburgh State Historic Site

September 28th
Rte. 9, Staatsburg, NY
11:00am –  5:00pm. From Celtic dancing to Caber Tossing, haggis hurling to hand-knitted sweaters. Featured will be four pipe bands and a variety of popular Irish and Scottish entertainers. Plenty of Celtic Food and shopping. Demonstrations including lace-making, Irish knitting, sheep herding and shearing. Special activities for children include crafts and pennies in the hay. The day’s fun will culminate with a Parade of Pipe Bands, Clan Associations and Flags of Celtic Nations. $10 for adults and $2 for children aged 12 and younger.

Barry’s Ride For Children

Annual bicycle ride hosted by a former resident to benefit the children at The Astor Home for Children in Rhinebeck. Prior to 9/22/08 entrance fee is $30 (late registration and day of the event registration is $40). Three routes will be available: Novice, Intermediate and Experienced.
