Marshall Crenshaw will perform in Rhinebeck

Singer-songwriter Marshall Crenshaw will perform in Rhinebeck Sunday  February 24th as part of a fundraiser for the fifth-grade class at Chancellor Livingston School.

The concert and accompanying auction is part of the class’ effort to raise money for its annual trip to Cape Cod, Mass., for a whale watch.

The show is from 3-6 p.m. at the Father Brogan Center, Mulberry Street, Rhinebeck. Doors will open at 2:15 p.m.

The auction will feature silent bidding on scores of items from local merchants. Up for grabs will be a professionally installed home security system from Safeco Alarm Systems, golf for four at Copake Lake Country Club, dinner for two at Le Petit Bistro and a day on the field with the coaches at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx followed by the game that evening.

The auction will run concurrently with a benefit concert. Besides Crenshaw, entertainers will include The Marginal Front Band, The Has Beens and Will Be’s, Celtic fiddler Alexandra Gibbons, Tim Gearan and Russ Bonk and his Empty Pockets Band.

Admission to the Whale of a Concert/Auction will be $5; $20 for a family of four or more. Tickets will be available at the door. Hors d’oeurves will be served and wine will be available. Call 845-266-4250.
