American Musical Theater: A Century of Broadway

Currently in our 63rd season, the Rhinebeck Choral Club is actively seeking new members in all of our vocal sections for the 2008 Spring Concert season! Our spring program will highlight musical theater in America.  The repertoire will feature some of the most familiar and beloved songs representing nearly a century of Broadway shows.  Selections will range from powerhouse pieces from Wicked, Sweeney Todd, and Les Mis to sensitive pieces from The Fantasticks, A Chorus Line, and Oklahoma.

Members do not need to have any previous musical background or experience, and music reading skills are not required. Open Rehearsals are scheduled for Wednesday, January 9 and/or 16 at the Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck, NY.  After rehearsal, a brief and painless audition is held–auditionees will be tested for their vocal range, and will sing a brief section of a familiar song, alone and with others from their voice part.

The Choral Club is open to residents of all areas of the Hudson Valley region. Rehearsals  are held each Wednesday evening from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM at the Ferncliff Nursing Home.  Regular attendance is expected from all members.
