Conductors Institute – Summer 2007 Program from June 25th to August 3rd  Location: Bard College, locations and times tba  Founded by Maestro Harold Farberman, this is a six week summer course offering study combinations including baton placement, performance skills and podium time under the tutelage of guest conductors and internationally known composers. Kids Summer Art Classes At Ali-Mac Studio from July 2nd to July 13th  Location: Imagination Station, Chocolate Factory, Red Hook Sign up today and expose your young artist to a variety of art media and Art History. Each student will work in ceramic sculpture, acrylic painting, wood, drawing indoors and outdoors. The emphasis is on having FUN, being creative and learning new skills. 9:00am-12:30pm daily Monday thru Friday. Open to ages 12-13. Cost: $350 for two weeks including supplies.

Summer Celebration on July 7th

Wilderstein once again puts the “fun” back in fundraiser with its annual summer benefit. This Independence Day weekend “old-fashioned picnic” will take place from 6pm until 10pm, and will feature great food and drinks, dancing to music by the Vintage DJ, a silent auction, and tours of the mansion from 6pm until 7pm. Knepper discusses her recent book, “Dear Mrs. Roosevelt: Letters to Eleanor Roosevelt Through Depression and War.” Impoverished farmers, African-Americans suffering the blows of racism, mothers mourning their lost sons in the war… the stories of these Americans and more pour through in this remarkable collection of letters. Dr. Knepper unfolds the stories behind these American families and documents Mrs. Roosevelt’s attempts to help them. Tea and refreshments to follow. Event to begin at 2pm.
